twelve clicks! 26th august 07.
its was a late night. i was using the computer till 1am plus. chatting with leeky on wad to drink and eat and to bring. after that, i bath and wanted to sleep. the constantly and suddenly bolt of energy kept me from sleeping. den finally at 3am. i took a deep breath and said to myself. its all in the mind. go to sleep now and wake up at 5am. zzzzzz. it woke. its felt as thou i fainted. just two hours of sleep. the alarm clock from the handphone sounded louded den the parade commander. i jump up. prepare my milo. leeky called to check if the sir is awake. bath. packed my stuff. and off i go. well. unlucky stuff comes from this moment. i missed the bus and had to wait like 15mins for the next one. best ah. so reach the mrt. watch leeky played the ape academy two. wow. the gathering of the healthy living or maybe quite a lot of wannabes. so hurried to store our bag. oh. we meet our senior kai xiang. den we squeeze through the fun runners. and from here the run of my first 12km started.
stepped onto the red carpet. with the sound from the speakers in recoginise of our start. beep* beep beep* it went. fast jog for a start. as i read in a book. starting out in a relatively fast pace is good. as you will not be able to have a fast pace after the first 2km. so fast pace. with a very joking mind. leeky and i continued to talk through the run. reached the first water check point. now. notice the change in colour. our energy starts to burn off. steps by steps. we took over lots and lots of army men. wad gave me the mental strength to run? its was the words on the boards at the sides. "your thoughts are your traitors. they will try in all ways to stop you from achieving your goal." "the best quiality i have is not my physical ability. but my mental ability." and of casue coming out from my own mouth "no pain no gain" and "its all in the mind". running the first 6km was no much a problem. the runnning shoes was the main problem. by the fourth km. my right leg was starting to hurt from the constant rubbing with the lousy converse shoes. which of cus are heavy and difficult to maintain great balance and good form. reaching checkpoints are the best. wads more do you ask for. the 6th division, guards, armour and some other different parts of the army men are pouring water for you. the constant stares and irritating sounds from ns men who all appear in disbelieve that two youngster just ran past them. another thing that keep us going. the beautiful view. from the tall buildings, DBS bank, sky, clouds, the ferry wheel, the river, the crowd, the sweat falling on the eyes. by the 8th km. we were out of oil tanks. now. human have two oil tanks. one is the body. the other is the mind. after a short walk. we took off again.this time. with less energy and speed. just shortly after we continued running. a groups of girls appear. in ultra mini skirts and tight fit tees. shouting "100 plus! 100 plus! we want 100 plus!" "go go go!" all the random cheering did not quite register into our brain. what was in my mind? don tell you. so the run continue. with one really dumb phrase i hear "you give me one cup of 100plus. i dash for you 100m." and and the check points are only placed every 2km. so this guy is going to dash 100m and walk the other 1900m. now. after reaching the last check point. we decided not to stop and continue without having any water supply. enough is enough. so after continue for a while. this is what we heard "okay! infront after you turn right! you will see the ending point!!" now. at this point. we kept running. and what i saw was a big "finish" sign. running with all the power left. what i saw was "the 6th division" okay great. so we continue running. and now. i saw the real finish point!! okay. now dash all the way. but reaching. we found out we have to turn left and to the main finish point for the competitives runners. and den there was it!!! the red carpet. where our champion chip would register our timing upon stepping over it! beepbeep beep**. A big smile appear on my face. with the sweat, dirt and pimples. from there we took a rest and decided to eat. and wanted to watch movie, but too bad. no time slot. so go home. sleeep!!! 6hours. order mac and ate mcspicy. no pain no gain. its all in the mind. its true. i haven been running for such a long time. i sprain my ankle. who cares. I DID IT. and the thing is so can you.
