Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2008
8days after the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2008.
lets trace back to the last post. 1.56am.
woke up at 12+. played com to help me relax.
slept quite late. but had enough sleep already. i woke up quite late.
1am to 2am was doing gaming. 2am went back to sleep until 3am. was just tossing around.
2:50am dad woke me up & got me to bath.
3:40am reach stadium.
4am. bus came. took the bus. I WANTED TO SIT BESIDE THE WINDOW.
reached the Civilian War Memorial.
sat down just beside it. the night was cool and dark.
the Civilian War Memorial is dedicated to all those who perished during the Japanese Occupation of Singapore between 15 February 1942 to 12 September 1945. Four identical pillars rising more than 60 metres high symbolise the shared experiences of the four major races of Singapore - Chinese, Malay, Indian and other races. The remains of the unidentified war victims are buried beneath the monument.
so imagine....~~ changing shoes on a memorial park.
found the toilet. walked towards the start line.
mental preparation. starting reminding myself when to take those powergels.
which was... quite useful to a certain extent.
didnt drink water. that was a big mistake.
first 10km was a huge pain in the foot. my shoelaces were too tight.
taking a break means getting take over very fast.
saw hector and kelvin.
it was so stuffy as people were going slow. and crowded. but lucky i was really near the start point. like 20seconds difference of gun and chip time.
20km onwards. everything was going smoothly.
plain water + 100plus + great supporters = good run!
but at the 25km point. i found out that i seem to have stop
perspiring.THAT IS VERY BAD. IM NOT COOLING DOWN AND EXCESS WATER IS NOT COMING OUT. BUT I DOUBT I HAVE ANY EXCESS WATER.
30km to 35km wasnt that bad too. just started to feel the cramps.
lots of 100plus and deep heat.
i apply like huge amount of deep heat. until the whole leg was white.
sun was out and up & hot.
35km onwards was really REALLY BAD, sucks.
cramps on the whole lower body.
big blister on the left leg.
huge amount of walking. with abit of sprinting.
40km onwards was painless. everything was gone. the end was near. just a mere 2.195km.
starting jogging faster.
42.195km. the finish line. was the. best damn. line i have ever cross.
the body was tired. the mind was stopping. the heart keep going on.
the run was great. supporters were much appreciated.
except for this muthafucker who was so lazy and didnt even offered to help at the baggage section. people wasnt going to him. he wasnt calling people. he just sat there. just like an immature baby whinning. "why are people not coming."
lucky i was smart. went to the girls. they are faster. more helpful.
and most of all. they are sweet and they don whine like an asshole.

actually much of the run, the feelings and thoughts could not be pen down or recorded.
only a finisher of the 42.195km marathon would understand.
not forgetting the guy who offered me his deep heat when i was having a bad cramp at mid point of east coast. many thanks to those we smsed or in any way encouraged me.

8days after that race. everything is bad to normal.
BUT I AM GOING TO MISS SUNDOWN MARATHON.
FREAKING DAMN IT.
